Sustainable consumption: what does it mean?

Sustainable consumption is a practice that consists of making acquisitions of goods or services aware to opt for products that have a vision of economizing the use of natural resources and strategies to reduce pollution, in general, that the impact on the environment is the least possible so that resources continue to be preserved to supply future generations.

Sustainable consumption falls on the consumer, and the decisions they make will be very important to mitigate or not environmental damage, on the other hand, companies must also offer options that satisfy these purchasing needs. At Maxipet, we are aware of this and we offer our customers 100% recyclable containers.

How is sustainable consumption carried out?

The first thing is to identify those companies that within their production have measures that seek to reduce environmental impact, for example, in Maxipet's production plant, we opted for processes to minimize damage and the use of renewable resources; In our case, 10% of the energy we use is produced thanks to a system of installed solar panels, coupled with the use of Led lights that reduce energy consumption, in addition, the construction of the bottle factory was designed for the use of natural light.

Another action we have is rainwater harvesting to filter and be able to use the water, that is, the use of a filter makes it safe, and the residual water is used to irrigate green areas. We also seek to reduce waste to a minimum so that the waste is used and taken to recycling plants so that it can be used.

Why opt for sustainable consumption?

It is a fact that we live in a society where the vast majority of things can be marketed, however, this market dynamic has brought serious consequences, soil, air, and water are constantly affected by two axes, the first is the product that uses the excessive use of resources and on the other, the waste generated by the consumer of these products and goods. In recent years, disposable products have seen growth, and although many of these facilities improve the quality of life through comforts, a reflection is required to calculate the real benefits and the impact that this type of item will bring to future generations.

In Mexico, recycling is not mandatory by law, although some companies are dedicated to this business, they do not manage to treat all the waste, therefore, we invite you to be the one at home and in the places you live to encourage this type of action by opting for products such as HDPE or PET containers that can be recycled or reused for other purposes. Sustainable consumption marks a new route for the choice of products that are governed based on these new manufacturing schemes.
